Who are Syria’s Turkmen?

The Turkmen population in Syria has been in spotlight after the downing of Russian Su-24 warplane flaring tensions between Turkey and Russia. Turkey feels a close kinship to the Turkmen, who are Syrians of Turkic descent, says CCTV News’ Natalie Carney who has been reporting from the Turkish-Syrian border.
