Millions of people are suffering the consequences of Russia’s war against Ukraine. As devastation sweeps the region and millions are forced to flee their homes, we are beginning to see the long-term consequences the war will have for food security in Ukraine and around the globe.

The Rev. Daniel Rift, Director for ELCA World Hunger and Lutheran Disaster Response Fund, talked live with the Rev. Rachel Eskesen, Area Desk Director for Europe and Dr. Ryan Cumming, Program Director for Hunger Education for a discussion on conflict, hunger and the ELCA’s response in Eastern Europe. This conversation took place May 10, 2022. For more information about Lutheran Disaster Response and the ELCA’s work in Eastern Europe, visit: ELCA.org/Ukraine.
