Labor Day Weekend - 7 mile trail and Bald Mountain Camping with the M416 Trailer!

Saturday August 31st we took off up 7 mile trail and cut through a few others to our main objective, Bald Mountain Trail #517. Bald Mountain trail is located just south of Red Feather Lakes, Colorado and shoots you up to about 11,000 feet at the highest point.

That is of course where we decided to camp for the night, pour some pretty strong rum and cokes (which sneak up on you fast at 11,000 feet), and have an awesome night.

This was also the official maiden voyage of the "new to me" steven's m416 military trailer. Since getting that I have rebuilt the hubs, bought 5.5x5 to 5x5 wheel adapters to run JL takeoff wheels, and move the pintle to the lower of the 2 holes on the trailer.

as expected is followed me up bald mountain's rock crawl section with ease, not really bogging me down at all. I could feel it back there, but i got through the entire trail with no lockers etc.

This fall/winter i will have a hinged top made and get a roof top tent on it for next summer, plus i'm going to have some custom fenders made so the tires stop rubbing them on the bumps.

great overnight trip! hope there are a few more coming before the snow flies.
