Slow Blues with a Stride Bass - 1920s Style Piano Blues by Ethan Leinwand

Here's a slow blues improvisation in C, using a striding bass pattern with the left hand. Much of the piano playing in the traditional jazz and classic blues from the 1920s used this kind of left hand rhythm. This tune is an example of barrelhouse piano because of the low down blues feeling, the changes in rhythm, and a comparatively simple harmonic language.
I'm borrowing some melodic material from Cow Cow Davenport's amazing "Dirty Ground Hog Blues."
