Create Curly Hair & Afro Hair Embroidery Tutorial | DIY Embroidery Hoop Design | 3d Embroidery

Tutorial on how to create afro and curly hair in 3 different ways within an embroidery hoop design.

3d hairstyle embroidery can finish out your portrait embroidery beautifully.

It's simple and easy but so effective!

I will talk you through 3 different knots:
1. French knot
2. Loose french knot
3. Bullion knot

Things you'll need:
- Embroidery Hoop (mine is a 13cm hoop - https://amzn.to/31AY7l1)
- Needle
- Cotton fabric (https://amzn.to/3dzx4J2)
- Felt for backing (https://amzn.to/2NB4oon)
- Embroidery Thread
- Scissors (I love my little stork scissors https://amzn.to/386lMLh)
- Printer
- Felt pen / Sharpie
- A biro/pencil

Steps:
1. Cut out a piece of cotton fabric large enough for your hoop
2. Secure fabric in the embroidery hoop
3. Print out your design and copy it onto the fabric
4. Using the embroidery thread, copy the outline design onto the fabric
5. Embroider your design.
6. Cut a piece of felt using the embroidery hoop as a guide
7. Using a running stitch draw in the loose ends of the fabric on the back to neaten it up
8. Using a whip stitch secure the felt onto the back of the design to finish it off


Then the only remaining thing is to display your embroidery hoop with pride and make sure that you point it out to everyone, reminding them you made it!
