"One day in the life of a person in a wheelchair" is a project designed to make Kyiv authorities pay attention to the problems connected in the capital city for people with disabilities.

TV host Solomiya Vitvitska and writer Irena Karpa tried to ride a wheelchair from Kyiv City Hall to Golden Gate Metro Station. They faced numerous obstacles on their way such as not able to fit underground crossings, too steep stairs of a porch shop, and a lot of cars parked directly on pedestrian areas.

Shotokan Karate World Champion Olena Moloda complains that public transport remains to be the biggest problem.

"Not all the trolleybuses drive up to the curb, and not all will recline a ramp even if it's equipped with one. So, he drives up and keeps on sitting. He comes out only when you start waving your hands", the sportswoman says.

According to the project organizer, the head of civil organization "Pidmoha.Info", Oleksiy Krasnoshchokov, such projects will be held in several cities of Ukraine – in particular Kharkiv and Lviv.

The participants were filmed to form a report and pass it on to the City Building and Architecture Department of Kyiv.
