The much-anticipated 5th solo exhibition of new paintings by Annabelle Marquis opens Saturday, October 22. A talented painter from Montreal, Marquis first studied as a graphic designer before pursuing a painting career in 2006. Her style blossomed alongside her artistic freedom as she created a dramatic and distinct style for herself. Aiming to captivate the gaze of the beholder while striving to connect with the mind, she creates visual ambushes - pictorial scavenger hunts where the rules are dictated by the tenuous thread that links conscious to unconscious.

Since 1975, the West End Gallery has showcased the works of leading Canadian painters and glass artists. Established by Dan and Lana Hudon in the west end of Edmonton, Alberta, the gallery has grown to include their son, Matthew, in 2005 and welcomed its newest staff member, Marissa, this past October. The West End Gallery is honored to commemorate its 40th anniversary this April, coinciding with our move to a new location. We are leaving our well-known Jasper Avenue locale after 35 years to join the other Edmonton galleries in the highly regarded 124th street Arts District, at 10337-124 street, Princeton Place.
