That time we ALMOST had a tv show! We caught the attention of a production team intrigued by the idea of me, a female general contractor, and my company. After a few Zoom sessions, they decided to pitch our concept to a few of the BIGGEST home and lifestyle networks. One network passed, but another major one said yes! I’ll never forget the moment I got that call - it was surreal.

With the network's interest, our production team swung into action, flying out to Portland to film a mini-episode over four intense days. It was nerve-wracking at first, being mic’d up and in front of cameras, but the amazing crew made me feel at ease. The experience was a whirlwind of emotions, from adrenaline and joy to moments of self-consciousness, and overwhelm. By the end, the crew felt like family.

Ultimately, the network decided to pass on the show concept. While it was disappointing, the journey was unforgettable. We worked incredibly hard, and the experience brought us closer as a team. We’ll keep delivering the best AKL experience possible and saying yes to big opportunities.
