27 Oct every year is celebrated as #InfantryDay as it is on this day the first elements of the #IndianArmy (1 SIKH) landed at #Srinagar airport which eventually saved #Kashmir from the raiders of# Pakistan and threw them back. This airlift of 1 SIKH was the beginning of the 1st Military campaign of #Independent #India. Observance of the day also commemorates Infantry exceptional courage and dedicated service to Nation. To commemorate #InfantryDay Celebration, a #CycleRally was conducted by all 27 Infantry Regiments of Infantry. All teams consisting of 10 riders each cycled (total 230 riders) from 23 Regimental Centres spread in all cardinal directions of our country and culminated at New Delhi. The Rally was symbolic of “#IndianArmy” #ethos of #National #Integration and the #indomitable spirit of #adventure of #Infantry.
