Описание к видео From Knot to Pot: DIY Macrame Plant Hanger for your Propagated Plants

Let’s propagate a plant and make a macrame plant hanger for it. This will be divided up in 2 parts. The first plant propagation; the second making a simple macrame plant hanger for your propagated plant.

Part 1: Propagating plants is a great way to expand your collection without spending a lot of money. Not only is it an affordable option, but it's also a fun and rewarding way to watch your plant grow and thrive.

Timing is critical when it comes to propagation. Most plants can be propagated during their active growing season, which is typically in the spring or summer. It's important to choose the right time to ensure that vour plant has the best chance of success.

There are several different ways to propagate plants, including stem cuttings, leaf cuttings, and division. Choose the method that is best suited for vour plant and its needs. Some popular plants for propagation include pothos, spider plants, and succulents.

For beginners, it's best to start with easy-to-propagate plants that require minimal care and attention. Here are some of the easiest plants to propagate:
1. Pothos: Pothos is a popular and easy-to-grow plant that can be propagated with stem cuttings. It's an excellent plant forbeginners as it can tolerate a wide range of growingconditions.
2. Spider Plant: Spider plants are another easy-to-grow plant that can be propagated with stem cuttings. They also produce'spiderettes' that can be easily propagated by planting them in soil.
3. Snake Plant: Snake plants are low maintenance plants that can be propagated with leaf cuttings. They are tolerant of a wide range of growing conditions, including low light.
4. Succulents: Succulents are easy-to-propagate plants that can be grown from leaf or stem cuttings. They are low maintenance and can tolerate drought conditions.
5. Jade Plant: Jade plants are another easy-to-propagate plant that can be grown from stem cuttings. They are low maintenance and can tolerate low light conditions.
6. English Ivy: English Ivy is a trailing plant that can be propagated with stem cuttings. It's an excellent plant for beginners as it can grow in a variety of light conditions.
7. Rubber Plant: Rubber plants can be propagated with stem cuttings. They are low maintenance and can tolerate a wide range of growing conditions.

I chose my Pothos for this video. Pothos plants can be propagated with stem cuttings or simply by dividing the plant. Stem cuttings are the most common method of propagation and are relatively easy to do.

Select a healthy stem that is at least 4-6 inches long and has several leaves attached. Cut Your Stem just below a node. Nodes are the small bumps on the stem where leaves or branches grow from. Make sure to use a clean, sharp cutting tool to avoid damaging the plant.

Remove the bottom leaves from the stem, leaving at least two to three leaves at the top. This will allow the cutting to focus its energy on producing roots rather than supporting the leaves. Dip the cut end of the stem into rooting hormone, if desired, to promote root growth.

Plant your cutting. I see a lot of people planting their cuttings right away into soil. That is definitely a good way to do it. I do this step a little later. I have more success when I place them in a jar of water and let the roots grow. Once the roots grow I’ll transfer them into a current pot to make it thicker or make a new one.

When you’re ready to plant; place the cutting into a container filled with well-draining soil or a propagation mix. If you are planting right from cutting make sure that at least one node is below the soil line. Water the cutting lightly and place it in a warm, bright location, but out of direct sunlight.

Propagating a plant is an easy and rewarding process that allows you to expand your plant collection and share the joy of plant parenthood with others. Remember to be patient, and before you know it, you'll have a thriving collection of plants in no time. Propagating plants is a fun and easy way to expand your collection and save money.
