Government attorneys defend police in civil rights lawsuits. They review and approve payment for attorneys, they oversee lawsuits involving public employees and claims against the local government. These attorneys are also responsible for managing and supervising the payments made to attorneys who contract with the county or who work in family court as minors counsel. They also defend public records lawsuits, keeping the public and press from open records as we see playing out in Georgia with open records lawsuits involving District Attorney Fani Willis.

It is county counsel attorneys who typically incur the legal costs and expenses associated with keeping records from the public.

This video is a follow up to our day in Sonoma County where we first recorded the head of County Counsel being served with a civil lawsuit after he made a false citizen's arrest on a process server.

After recording that, we went to the Sheriff to get a copy of the roster. Now we are fighting with County Counsel for public reocrds the public has a right to access and inspect. Before we are done, we have another attorney employed in Code Enforcement we are investigating.

Code enforcement is the area of county or city government that impacts property and busienss owners.
