The 2017 is the latest gun mic from DPA, a firm with a storied reputation as premium microphone makers. DPA already has a high end contender in the gun mic field in the shape of the 4017. But now they have a new champion at half the price of the 4017. DPA are making great claims for the quality and engineering of the 2017 but Sennheiser's MKH 416 has seen them come and go.
