The Whirlpool top load washer started making a squeal squeaky noise while
washing. After tilting 33-45 degrees removed the plastic cover over the belt and noticed it was half way off. Looking at cover, the belt had been hitting the cover and making the noise. It's best to just get a new belt since it was wearing away.

If this does'nt stop the noise and/or the belt slides off again, get a new belt WPW10006384 ($30 max) and a W10721967 Drive Pulley kit ($30 max) and do both at the same time. The plastic cam does wear away with use.
