NPC Advantages: no requirements, but it can be very difficult without at least one intimidators (tauros, staraptor, arcanine), since annihilape cannot debuff attack. gardevoir (life dew), paralyzers (bellibolt, umbreon, dudunsparce), and arboliva (seed sower) help.

Strategy: focus energy. drain punch until your stats reset. terastalize ASAP. drain punch when you need HP. 3-5 bulk up. after feraligatr clears its stats (65% HP) and before it uses dragon dance (50%) use bulldoze. drain punch to victory.

Notes: it may be advantageous to move some HP EVs to attack to boost drain punch healing. bulldoze is critical here. you are likely to get KO'd without it, since dragon dancing between turns will cause annihilape to get hit with two consecutive psychic fangs between drain punches. it has to be timed perfectly due to the narrow window between feraligatr's stat clear and its use of dragon dance. this is less of an issue if you have an intimidator on your team, which makes it feasible to tank 2 psychic fangs. another option is to replace bulldoze with taunt and try to land a taunt right before the shield goes up and trigger dragon dance before the taunt expires. that would be harder to pull off though.

Pros: supereffective tera type matching base type, excellent HP and attack stats. good defense stat. outspeeds feraligatr (even after it uses dragon dance, thanks to bulldoze). resists crunch after terastalizing. bulldoze debuffs speed 1 stage through shield. bulk up buffs 1 attack stage and 1 defense stage. focus energy + razor claw gives 100% chance of critical hit. drain punch as 75 base power, 100 accuracy, and deals supereffective STAB (tera-boosted when terastalized) damage. it recovers 50% of the damage dealt in HP.

Cons: weak to psychic fangs. cannot debuff attack (which makes annihilape very vulnerable to critical hits without an intimidator).
