In this episode of "ISKCON Kirtan Ministry Presents | Unfiltered Podcast Every Week with HH Sri Krishna Chaitanya Swami" features a very special devotee, a dear disciple of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada, Her Grace Daivi Shakti Mataji.

Her Grace Daivi Sakti Mataji's lifelong quest to understand the teachings of God began in her childhood. Born to a family of immigrant survivors of World War II, her father, a religious leader, fled his war-torn homeland, leaving a profound impact on her. Relatives, marked by concentration camp tattoos, recounted their survival stories, deeply influencing her. At age five, she enrolled in Hebrew School with the goal of studying the Torah in its original language.

Her most cherished moments in school were singing ancient Hebrew songs in praise of God, which fuelled her desire to understand the scriptures. However, as she neared graduation, she found her education lacking in depth and had learned little Hebrew. Despite this, she continued her religious studies with an English translation of the Torah, incorporating its ethical and moral codes into her life, which set her apart from her peers.

At sixteen, she sought to study the most ancient scriptures and chose the University of Chicago for its Oriental studies program, inspired by a professor's advice to complete college before considering monastic life. During her first week at university, she discovered the Bhagavad-gita, which profoundly resonated with her. The "Song of God" answered her questions about life and God, prompting her to seek those living by its principles.

In the 1960s, her search led her to California, where she encountered devotees chanting Hare Krishna on the streets of Haight-Ashbury. Although she was initially too shy to approach them, she was deeply moved by their devotion. Back in Pennsylvania, she continued to follow the Bhagavad-gita's teachings and eventually encountered the devotees again in Philadelphia. This time, she joined them, attended their temple, and soon moved in to live as a devotee.

At the temple, she found a small community in need of help. Under Srila Prabhupada's guidance, she and the other devotees quickly learned and began teaching Krishna's teachings. Her early quest to understand God's teachings culminated in her deep study of ancient scriptures in Sanskrit and her participation in Sankirtana, the congregational chanting of God's holy names. Through this journey, she realised that sincerely following God's instructions could lead anyone to the perfection of life and love of God.
