The Cardiac Stress Test | Stress ECG | Stress Echo

In this episode, Professor Barlis goes through what an exercise stress test is and why it may be useful. He discusses how the test is performed and the kind of information it can provide to your health care professional when evaluating your heart health. There are several variations of stress tests depending on the method used to assess the heart. More commonly is the stress electrocardiogram that uses an ECG / EKG to monitor electrical activity of the heart during exercise. Another test called a stress echocardiogram uses a heart ultrasound to gather pictures of the heart muscle and compare the results before and after exercising on the treadmill.
