When most people think of Anker, they think of battery banks or power cables. Those type of products from them are amazing. But, the Anker Sound Core Liberty earbuds aren’t batteries. They’re an audio product. So, the question is, are these a great, airpods or galaxy buds competitor, and are these truly wireless earbuds any good? I want them to be good cause, they claim to offer a ridiculous 100 hours of total battery life. So, let’s get started with a little review.

Let’s start off by talking about these earbuds for a little bit. They’re super difficult to find because it’s only called the Anker Soundcore liberty. But if you type that into google you’ll find the liberty air, liberty lite, and liberty neo. It’s hard to find the one that’s just liberty. When I did further research I found that these are apparently just the upgraded version of the Zolo liberty. That’s not confusing at all. And that’s sadly, the best way to find these. Now. The earbuds come with the charging case, a micro usb charging cable, some accessories to personalize the fit of the ear buds, oh and a twist tie. I’ll just add that to my collection.

Now let’s discuss the positives. Did I mention the 100-hour battery life? Cause these things have 100 hours of battery life. The earbuds themselves sport a staggering 8 hours of battery life with the additional 92 coming from the case. That’s a lot of battery for truly wireless earbuds, which is great, because after a few years when the battery degrades, this one will still have adequate battery life. The earbuds also magnetically snap into place when placed into their case giving you a satisfying sound. Sound quality is good, I’d say as good and as clear as the AirPods. Here’s how much sound leaks out at roughly 75% and 100% volume. They have Bluetooth 5 support and are sweat resistant. The only way I got these to fall out is by nodding my head back and forth like a child afraid to eat broccoli. The mic is only on the right side, so you can only use that side to make calls, and here is how the mic sounds. The Anker soundcore liberty ZOLO have multiple functions by utilizing a button on the earbuds.
Now let’s discuss negatives. The earbuds, at least to me are a bit uncomfortable after a long period of time. 2-3 hours in and my ears just feel funny. The earbuds do get a bit warm, at least, warmer than airpods that it’s noticeable. The case is about twice the size of the case of airpods, so it’s not giant like say some power banks, but gives you an embarrassing huge bulge in your front pants pocket. I promise you, this is the case. The case may not fit in places as well as some other truly wireless earbud cases, but that’s what you give up for 100 hours of battery life. It does however, lack wireless charging capabilities and doesn’t offer seemless pairing like some other competitors. Though, I think those are minor negatives. Despite all the eartip and sleeve options the soundcore liberty just never properly fit all the way for me. The sound quality is nice, but if the ear buds aren’t all the way secured in your ear, the sound, particularly the low end, suffers. That is common for in ear earbuds though. Some people reported random earbud disconnections but I personally didn’t experience any of that. Your mileage may vary there. Lastly, you can use the right earbud alone, but not the left, which can be a big deal if you’re possibly deaf in one, or just prefer the left earbud. So, keep that in mind.

So, in conclusion, despite some of its minor deficiencies, this pair of truly wireless earbuds provide excellent sound quality, and crazy good battery life. Its case is a little chunky but provides great value for earbuds that only cost $100 dollars. The Anker Soundcore Liberty lacks some features that make their competitors stand out, but in the end, the soundcore liberty does what truly wireless earbuds depend on most. Good sound quality, great battery life, and an alright price tag.
