A Heat Sensing Tube System (also called Linear Heat Detection Tubing) is an automatic fire detection and suppression activation technology widely used to protect electrical panels, switchgear, transformers, and control cabinets.

What Is Heat Sensing Tube System?
 
A flexible plastic or metal tube runs throughout the protected area or inside an electrical panel.
The tube contains a pressurized gas (usually nitrogen).
When exposed to heat from a fire (typically 68°C / 155°F or higher), the tube ruptures or bursts at the heated spot.
The escaping gas pressure activates the fire suppression system (e.g., releases FM-200, Novec 1230, or dry chemical agent).
Acts as both detector and release actuator — no electronic sensors required.
How It Works
Installation: The tube is routed near heat risk points inside electrical panels or enclosures.
Normal Conditions: Tube remains intact under system pressure.
Fire / High Heat: Tube softens and bursts at hot spot.
Pressure Drop: The drop in gas pressure triggers a pressure switch.
Signal: The pressure switch signals the control panel.
Agent Release: Fire suppression agent is discharged immediately.
