New to kayaking and not sure what kayak rack system is best for you? Need to load or car-top a kayak alone / by yourself? Here I show how to load a kayak solo on top of a mid-size SUV using Yakima J-hooks which I have had over 10 years now and they have never let me down! In depth walk thru of using J-hook (upright hull-raisers) on Yakima cross bars, using cinch straps to tie down your kayak, lifting and carrying a kayak by yourself / solo, and loading kayak onto top of car and securing kayak in the J-hooks for transport.
