We are so happy to welcome back Flowers of the Forest this Summer with outstanding new music in their form of their upcoming EP, ‘Atitasha’. Following the release of their magical debut album, ‘The Calling’, in late 2023, Rutt Treima and Sigmund Vatvedt have been flowing creatively both together and individually. Now they, and we, are proud to present a beautiful new song written by Rutt and performed by the duo together, ‘Earth Mother’.

A deeply evocative musical prayer, Earth Mother, shines a bright light on Rutt’s distinctive singing voice, which is rich in purity and emotion and which shares its words from a deeply wise heart.

“This song is calling upon, connecting with and honouring both the Earth as our mother and the Sky as our father, acknowledging that we are supported by both. With our feet grounded to the Earth and our spirit connected to the skies, to the sun, the moon, the planets and all the stars and the celestial dimensions, these forces can impact our lives and we can be in conscious communion with them.

We are here living our lives in-between, and as nature goes through different seasons and cycles so does our human life. We go through childhood, adolescence, adulthood, elder hood and finally our final breath of this life on Earth.

This song is an invitation to be an active participant in this journey, to the dance and song of life and to connect to the elements of nature. In doing so, we invite more gentleness and ease, joy and laughter, and balance between the being, the doing and the surrendering.” Rutt Treima.

The Flowers of the Forest sing their songs with deep medicinal intention, much of their music was born from a state of communion with the esoteric realm and the words and melodies weave intricate journeys into the self and to the other. Their album, The Calling, was a vast exploration through healing and enlightenment, and as they continue on their creative adventure, we may expect much more profound and supremely beautiful musical art to shine out from this talented duo.
