Last Ink! Marcus 2024-08-21 - Wanted to shoot short videos from the perspective of the client's chair - of the last few tattoos I perform at Johnson Tattoo before its dissolution at the end of August. Here, I am rendering a Moroccan Camel on legacy client Marcus' leg, thank him for his long-time patronage of my work since 1996, and share interesting and relevant anecdotes; He allows me to review most of the work I've done for him over the years, and each of the quirky pieces has an interesting background; I associate him with the main character in Ray Bradbury's "The Illustrated Man" in this regard - not that I consider him a mysterious hobo;

I mention my interest in his father's profession as a traditional sign painter and propose to interview him about the trade in a future video. I also relate the anecdote about chancing across a gospel record at a local resale by a singer whose name seemed familiar ... which coincidentally turned-out to be a record his father recorded many years ago; Marcus got him to autograph it for me, much to my delight. Of course I also mention the shop's 57 year history and my move to a new office in Garden City - the nearby town where Marcus happened to grow up ... Much gratitude to you and my other loyal clients over the years!
