1. Choose a niche/Come up with a concept for an account
On the topic of providing value and being interesting, you need to focus your efforts.
It's really hard to grow if you talk about EVERYthing. So instead focus on just a few things.
When you have a set niche, people know why they are following you and what to expect.

2. Make a list of other accounts in your niche or in niches that are similar to yours. Find small accounts, medium-sized accounts, and large accounts. These are the people you will engage with on a regular basis.
The more frequently you can reply to tweets from other accounts, especially the larger accounts, the more chances you have of new people finding you.

3. Be interesting, provide value, and BE AUTHENTIC
What makes you unique? What skills do you have? What have you accomplished in life? What are you super knowledgeable about?
Lean into the things that make you different and that will let you provide interesting and unique value to people who follow you.

4. Join a community
This one is two-fold. You should join a solid community, but you should also join a few engagement groups.
An engagement group is a group of other twitter accounts, usually not too much different in size to you and usually in the same niche or complementary niches.
Every day you can post one to a few of your tweets in there and everyone will like them and/or comment on them. When you are small this really boosts your tweets so they don't sit with zero likes on them
However, most engagement groups end there. So you should join a community.
My absolute favorite community is the Masterclass 24/7 community.

5. Have a profile that converts.
Your twitter profile is SO important. Your profile photo, you header image, and your bio are where you turn a potential follower into a follower.
Your profile is your billboard and your advertising. So it needs to be good

6. Craft your tweets
Great tweets looks great. They have excellent structure. They are well-written. They are pleasing to read.
I highly recommend you get Create 24/7 twitter course.
It literally spells out winning tweet formulas, techniques, and guidelines for writing.
Not only do you need to craft great tweets, but you need to write A LOT of tweets.

7. Create a swipe file
Save all your ideas that you have yourself. And save all the tweets that other people write that you really like and that are super sucessful.
As you do this you will create a thought museum or a idea factory. You can look in there for your tweets you might want to post or for inspiration.
When you see a super successful tweet someone wrote, save it, then use it to inspire an original tweet of yours that captures the essence or follows the same formula.

8. Be consistent
Lastly and this is one of the most basic, but also most important ones. Be consistent.
You will not grow if you only tweet randomly every few days or weeks.
