How to do an easy retro-style palm stencil for your skateboard deck

Inspired by Drew Brophy’s awesome surfboard painting techniques, I use palm leaves, spray paint and masking tap to give my longboard a quick new spray job.

Step 1: mask out all the areas you don’t want painted.

Step 2: lay your palm leaves down on the board and spray over top of them. Remember to shake the can for at least a minute to make sure the paint is fully incorporated. Don’t get too close with the paint - stay around a can length away from your board.

Step 3: wait for the paint to dry and then remove the masking tape.

Step 4: use an acrylic clear coat to protect your paint job.
