Born from tradition and infused with modernity, the Triolet Jacket is a mountain-focused hard shell for heavy snow, driving wind and pouring rain. The 3-layer Gore-Tex fabric features a waterproof, breathable membrane bonded between a robust inner lining and a 100% recycled durable polyester outer shell; a durable water repellent finish further fends off wet weather.

The helmet-compatible, two-way-adjustable hood with a laminated visor blends protection with optimal visibility; traditional cord locks in the hood and hem allow for quick adjustment; an interior stretch mesh catch-all pocket stashes spare gloves; two Napoleon chest pockets and two handwarmer pockets stay clear of harness and pack lines.

Hi, I'm Tom from Cotswold Outdoors and we're on Fiacaill Ridge, and I'm testing out my new PatagoniaTriolet jacket. So the Patagonia Triolet jacket is groundbreaking in many ways.Top of the list is its waterproofness, so it's a three layer Gore-Tex membrane, so it's absolutely bomber waterproof. And then the environmental credentials come in straight underneath with a fully recycled face fabric, whichPatagonia are ground breaking in doing. And also the garment is fairtrade certified sewn, which doesn't matter when you're out in the hill, you just need to be waterproof. But it really is good to see that the money gets spent on the people making these jackets in the factories. The trail jacket is feature rich as well, so you can use it as a jack of all trades, regardless of whatever you plan to do with it.Today, we're going hiking and a tiny little bit of scrambling, but I'll be very happy to use this for winter climbing and snow sports as well.Top of the list for me is that it’s got its two Napoleon pockets so really high away from the harness, away from any slings in any way you can get.At the moment I got my compass. You can use that for your snacks little on the pitch climb or your cut down map for when we get into winter stuff. The cuffs are absolutely massive on these, but cinch down with proper velcro and they don't get in the way or catch rain or anything that really good.Another big feature for me, which I never used to think much of when I was younger, but I really do now, and that's the hand warmer pocket well above the harness or hip belt. You've just got pockets. So for particularly light long, walk ins coming up to like some of their routes on the north face of the Ben or something where you don't really want to stick your gloves on too early and get sweaty in them. You just stick your hands in your pockets to shelter them and keep warm enough. It's really, really good. The main zips and the exposed zips are all laminated. Then where you can, they've put baffles on them to really protect them, and it just means the zipper runs so much smoother. And even with gloves on, you can grab the zip pull and it rides really easy. You don't fight against it having to hold the jacket with the other hand.It works really well. The main zippers also got a chin guard like a really nice soft brush chin guard, so it’s still really nice when you've got the hood on and the hoods got you two adjustments one each side of the neck, and it's also got the back of the hood adjustment. So even if I've even if I'm trying to dump some heat and vent a little bit because it's not pouring down rain,I can still have the hood up without it flopping off all the time. It's also stiffened, so it really gives you some protection when you're trying to do your, trying to do your nav or just stop everything the environment getting into your eyes.If you're looking to use a jacket for alpine sports ,then two really good features you want to know about.one is that it's got the Recco reflector in the back of the collar. The Troilet Jacket is compatible with all of Patagonia Snow Sport pants, with the clip at the back to the jacket from riding up in deep pow.
