The history of Austin can be told through the music of its diverse communities. The Eastside, the heart of the city's Mexican-American community, has a long and storied tradition exemplified by its conjunto music and musicians.

Conjunto Los Pinkys are a traditional-style conjunto formed on East 6th Street in July of 1993, the group has been performing for 20 years in the State of Texas and around the U.S.A. They play a weekly show at the White Horse, a popular Eastside Honky-tonk bar that used to be a Mexican Cantina. Every Sunday, Los Pinkys play for an eclectic crowd that personifies the demographic changes of East Austin. In fact, the Sunday performance (Tardeadas) has a long history in this community. Elderly Mexican-American couples share the dance floor with a new crowd of revelers often experiencing their first sounds of conjunto music.
