Namaste! In this travel vlog I show you how I spent 3 days in Varanasi, the oldest and most sacred city in India. Varanasi, also known as Banaras and Kashi, is famous for being Indias spiritual center, with the holy river Ganges flowing through the city. Many travellers come to Banaras to experience the spiritual life, engaging with sadhus (Babas) and Agori, and watching the holy cremations at the burning ghats.
On our first day we visit Assi ghat, Dashaswamedh ghat and Manikarnika ghat. Manikarnika is the main cremation site in Varanasi where cremations are carried out 24/7, around 300 a day. We then end the day by watching Ganga Aarti at Assi ghat. Day 2 was spent in Ramnagar on the opposite side of the Ganges where we had a good view of the Varanasi skyline and then visited the Ramnagar fort, after which we stopped at Harishchandra ghat to watch some more cremations. On our last day we went to Sarnath where the Buddha held his first sermon after becoming enlightened in Bodh Gaya. We saw so many different Buddhist temples from other cultures such as Thailand, Japan, Korea, and Tibet.
