The illusion of a candle inside a water container | Light | Physics

Описание к видео The illusion of a candle inside a water container | Light | Physics

Polished transparent objects such as plane glass have the property of reflecting a fraction of the incident light and letting the rest of it pass through. This has been illustrated and demonstrated in this delightful activity. By perfectly placing and lining up two objects that would not normally fit into each other, a surprising illusion is produced. The candle in front produces a image in the plane of the glass sheet and so does the glass of water standing behind it. By lining them up properly, these two images are superimposed perfectly on one another to produce this illusion.
