“Alien Properties” of 19th Century Bridgeport, Connecticut. Old World “Repossessed” + Barnum & Parks

Howdy ya’ll, welcome back. Today we are going to look at the vast New England city of Bridgeport, Connecticut. In doing this research, I was astonished to find a number of unique Old World style buildings in Bridgeport that were labeled “Alien Properties”, and repossessed by the United States in the early 20th century.

Luckily before these structures were torn down, or repurposed, we do have some very amazing photographs of them which we will look at in today’s video.

We will also browse a collection of 19th and early 20th century postcards of Bridgeport, as well as a large collection of stereoscopic images of Bridgeport dated to before the year 1920.
