The Oregon Trail was a historic route used by American pioneers in the 19th century. This route stretched for about 2,000 miles from Missouri to Oregon. The destination of the journey was Oregon City, a place that promised food, shelter, and land. However, the journey was extremely arduous. The settlers had to brave harsh weather conditions, negotiate difficult terrain, and make do with limited supplies. Each day presented a new challenge.
At the end of the trail is the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center in Oregon City. This center offers a variety of information and exhibits that illustrate the history of the trail and the experiences of the pioneers. The exhibits bring to life the hardships and triumphs of the travelers.
