Chase HQ II (1992) | Wranker 4K Megadrive Real Hardware Playthrough | Retrotink 4K

Описание к видео Chase HQ II (1992) | Wranker 4K Megadrive Real Hardware Playthrough | Retrotink 4K

Full playthrough of Chase HQ II, released in 1992 for the Megadrive/Genesis. A follow on game in the Chase HQ/Special Criminal Investigation (SCI) series, Taito used these games as the vehicle to sell games in the home based on the excellent arcade version of the same name.

While I'm a fan of the version for on the Master System, released three years earlier, I am not really a big fan of this one. Chase HQ II feels like a lazy cash grab, with the visuals being very underwhelming for the time. By this point, Road Rash 2, Super Hang On and Super Monaco GP had already given us a taste of the arcade scaling abilities of the Megadrive, with this looking more like a Master System game rather than a cutting edge 16-bit offering. I'm not a graphics snob though, and the problem with this, is it's more of the same we had already seen from the series, offering nothing new and actually removing the weapons in SCI. It's not a bad pick up and play with it being very short, but Chase HQ II wins no awards from the Wranker.

This was also released in Japan as Super Chase HQ, I have recorded a playthrough I will release for preservational record, but it is the same game in a different language.

******* Notes on this Video *******
This playthrough was captured on a VA1, Asian, Model 1 Megadrive. I have modded the console with a custom RGB Triple Bypass to remove noise and the dreaded jailbars. This is arguably the best picture output possible from any Megadrive/Genesis. The VA1's are hard to find, so if you are a creator, and need any footage for a video, contact me, and I'll sort it out for you.

The gameplay was integer scaled and correctly clocked with the RetroTink 4K, recorded in 4K using the M.2 Avermedia 4K Live Gamer capture card, both great bits of equipment, highly recommended for retro game enthusiasts.

I upload these playthroughs, mainly for real hardware footage preservation, which is why I use no watermarks or overlays and record the footage in integer scaled 4:3. Feel free to use it as you wish, all I ask, is you don't just reupload it in full. Credit to my main channel would be greatly appreciated, but not required. Youtube, obviously bit-crushes video and audio while compressing, so if you want the raw footage of this video, contact me.
