Would you want to sound like Kurt?

A YouTuber has spent a ton of money and several years trying to capture the exact guitar tone Kurt Cobain used on an album.
In the interests of science and entertainment I kind of appreciate that.
But unless you play in a Nirvana cover band or something, why would you want to or need to sound exactly like Kurt Cobain?
I kind of touched on this in a recent video about guitar players chasing tones of famous guitar players instead of sounding like something original.
Anyway I thought I'd talk about this today.
