Caveat Emptor to anyone wanting to use the A&D EK Series in the field where you don't have access to an AC power receptacle. We received complaints from customers that bought the A&D EK-Series since the A&D does not run off of standard batteries, but instead you must buy A&D special NiMH Battery Pack for an additional $209.00. Yep it is crazy in a day when you can go buy 4 - AA NiMH rechargeable batteries at Walmart for under $20 A&D designs their scale so you can only use their $209 NiMH Battery Pack.

It is totally amazing yet when we speak to A&D they tell us nobody has ever complained about the price of the EKW09i NiMH battery pack. If you feel the price is excessive voice your opinion by call A&D Weighing directly at 408-263-5333 and maybe if enough people call A&D they will be able to maybe re-engineer the battery so it will cost less.
