Описание к видео What is Triphasic Training?

Triphasic Training is a training program/philosophy pioneered by Strength and Conditioning coach Cal Dietz.

Triphasic refers to the theory that there are three components of muscle action. They are the eccentric, isometric and concentric part of the movement. In simpler terms this means in any movement a muscle has to absorb, contract, transition and fire to produce maximum force. To put this into more context, consider an athletic movement like a running back changing directions trying to juke a defender. The plant leg has to slow the athlete down and then accelerate him in the direction he wants to go. So what i'm attempting to do with my cousin is enhance his strength in the eccentric and isometric portions as well as the concentric so that it ultimately improves his performance on the field.

Another thing you are seeing in this video is my cousin do what's called French contrast training. Essentially French contrast training is a giant set of exercises starting with a heavy compound movement, then a bodyweight plyometric, a loaded plyometric and to finish with an assisted plyometric. The goal here is to use post activation potentiation (PAP) to almost trick the athlete to contract his muscles harder in the plyometric movements. This is a popular training program used by many track and field athletes and recent studies have shown that there is a relationship between the effects of contrast or complex training and increased performance.
