Sleep Like Royalty: Arima Onsen Taketoritei Maruyama - Everything's on the House, Except a Comfy Bed

This location is excellent for people who want to hike up the hills but don't have the willingness to do so, maybe because this place requires hiking up from the main town.

It is located at the top of the Arima Onsen mountain, where it is quiet and relaxing. Onsen ryokans in Japan provide full meal service (breakfast and dinner), private or public hot springs, a variety of drinks, laundry service, and clothing (one set for outside, another set for inside the hotel) - all free of charge, so you don't need to bring any extra clothes.

The distance from Tokyo to Arima can be covered in as fast as 2-3 hours by shinkansen, so if you want, it can be a day trip, and you can return to Tokyo if necessary. Nearby cities are also very vibrant, such as Osaka, which is only 20 minutes away. However, if you want to experience authentic Japanese hot springs, I recommend ryokan-style lodging for the full experience.
