Banded Demoiselle - The River Race

Belonging to the family Calopterygidae, these damsel flies are one of the largest of their species in the U.K.

Filmed in the Cotswolds this short film tells the story of The Banded Demoiselle (Calopteryx splendens), a stunning damselfly species. Beautiful and yet brutal these damselflies fight to defend territories and win a female.

I have been wanting to film this species for a little while now and after a lack of work during lockdown I managed to dedicate the time. I hope you enjoy the film.
