My long overdue tribute to the "Anne Of Green Gables" love story between Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe. With the sad and premature passing of Jonathan Crombie last month, I felt that this tribute was very fitting to not only the characters that he and Megan Follows portrayed but also to themselves as actors. Megan was just as shocking when she learned that Jonathan had passed away, and recalled his humorous and kind nature, and those qualities showed in his portrayal of Gilbert. So many girls fell in love with him because of the "Anne" movies, and I'm proud to say that I was one of them. Jonathan will be dearly missed by his loved ones, friends and fans but at least we have his work to remember him by. He will always be young and handsome, and I'm afraid his Gilbert is the standard that I hold most other men against. That's what Jonathan and his portrayal of Gilbert Blythe will always mean to me. May he rest in peace. I hope you find this video and the chosen song to be a fitting tribute.
