Solo completion of Grandmaster Nightfall Heist Battleground: Moon on Strand Hunter with Cyrtarachne's Facade and Polaris Lance - Solo GM - Solo Nightfall - Gilded Conqueror - Cyrtarachne's Facade - Polaris Lance - Platinum Rank - Whirling Maelstrom - Strand Hunter - Season of the Wish - Destiny 2 Lightfall.

I avoided using Polaris Lance as much as I could but sometimes you have to actually lean into the "meta". I am not a fan of this weapon. Since the emergence of Wish-ender I have been wondering what would be the next weapon that could surpass the boring nature of Wish-ender, and that turned out to be Polaris Lance. 90% of the time you are just holding left mouse button and everything dies. The only thing going for it are the flashy fancy explosions. Sadly, it is by far the best option for solo GMs and you will see it being overused a lot by everyone (including me) for the rest of this super-long season. I'll try my best to find more creative loadouts, but my goal is that even off-meta runs must not be much longer than meta runs... so we will see.

This run is a showcase of how absurdly powerful solar artifact perks are combined with Polaris Lance even on non-Solar subclasses. I am using Strand Hunter for this one, and the whole idea is to have multiple things going at the same time: Whirling Maelstroms, Woven Mail, Radiant and Ignitions. Cyrtarachne's Facade provides easy access to Woven Mail by using Grapple, Thread of Transmutation generates Tangles while Woven Mail is active, destroying those Tangles generates Whirling Maelstroms. Then we have the Solar part of the build: Flint Striker artifact perk makes you Radiant by scoring precision hits with Polaris Lance, and Kindling Trigger/Rays of Precision artifact perks with Polaris Lance cause Ignitions. Still being on Solar would make this run significantly faster.

As for the other weapons, I have a Kinetic Hand Cannon (Spare Rations) with Kinetic Tremors to stun Unstoppable Champions, and a Solar LMG (Fixed Odds) to quickly mow down enemies when required. I usually prefer Avalanche as it has Auto-loading Holster, but having Dodge and Grapple to reload solves that issue.

I decided to use the "Protect Ghost" section cheese. I will probably revisit it with no cheese, but I do not see much point for this GM as infinite enemies are not fun anyway. You can find a no cheese Strand Hunter completion from a season ago using the link below.
