Demo of the KORG M3R digital synthesizer from 1989 - The Most Fascinating Soundscapes.

All sounds come from a single Korg M3R played live without additional effects - right from the stereo outputs of the Korg M3R. I played sounds from the following sources:

0:00 - 0:33 World Omnibus (ROM CARD from Korg)
0:33 - 1:04 M3R factory presets
1:04 - 3:23 Synth 1 (CARD SET from Korg)
3:23 - 5:30 Synth 2 (CARD SET from Korg)
5:30 - 6:16 Synth 3 (CARD SET from Korg)
6:16 - 6:46 L.A. Studio Hits (ROM CARD from Key Clique Inc.)
6:46 - 7:11 Sound Effects (CARD SET from Korg)
7:11 - 8:48 Environment (CARD SET from Korg)
8:48 - 8:59 Akira (ROM CARD from Korg)
8:59 - 9:41 World Omnibus (ROM CARD from Korg)
9:41 - 9:48 Percussion (CARD SET from Korg)

CARD SET does mean, it's a set including a PCM card and a DATA card. ROM CARD means, it is a single card which uses the internal waveforms of the M3R.

In this video, I tried to play a selection of most fascinating sounds of the M3R sound library. The M3R shines when using it for digital pads, "Fairlight" or "Emulator" style sounds, ambient sounds and effects. But it's not a good choice for fat basses or analog style sounds. Creating own sounds is a pain, unless you have a Korg RE-1 remote controller or editor software.

The M3R is very cheap nowadays, it's a good choice if you like digital synth sounds from the early nineties!
