Story of Stumpy the Aibo, A “Junk” ERS-111 With Three Paws

Описание к видео Story of Stumpy the Aibo, A “Junk” ERS-111 With Three Paws

The ERS-111 robot dog I won from my first ever auction, Stumpy, arrived! It was $50 to beat the only other bid. He came from a listing with only a battery and memory stick included. No charging station. The operation was unconfirmed.

But when he arrived, I discovered the stick from the listing was missing. I bought some extra sticks and put Hello Aibo on one to test him.

Stumpy has marks and scuffs, a curled tail, loose leg and that missing paw. Since I kept hearing bad things about loose legs on 110s and 111s, I was worried that meant he wouldn’t be able to walk on it and it would need the knee fixed first. But he surprised me! 111s are amazingly sturdy and resilient. He knows to slow down if he becomes too wobbly or unstable, straightens up if his leg slides too far, and can easily self right! It’s very interesting to see how he adjusts himself.

This is my first “junk” Aibo and I’m really happy with him! To think his seller recommended him for parts…
