BMW Subscription - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

This past July BMW announced that they would be making some features subscription based. Something that BMW has been doing in several markets since 2020. Most notably BMW made heated seats available through a monthly fee. The question is, how far are companies like BMW willing to take this new revenue generating opportunity? Will they make steering or safety features subscription only?

In this video I talk about how subscriptions for heated seats and other features came about, the other companies like General Motors, Porsche, Audi, Toyota, and others that are joining BMW, and my concerns for the future of car subscriptions.
