15 years after a majority of Californians voted in favor of Proposition 8, banning same-sex marriage across the state, KQED sat down with the two couples who sued to overturn this law. Kris Perry and Sandy Stier, a couple from the Bay Area, were two of the defendants who fought for the right to marry each other and ended up making LGBTQ+ history. The fight against Prop. 8 was a landmark case that ultimately helped lead to marriage equality nationwide. This is the second part in the two-part KQED News series on this history.
