Amtrak and Union Pacific at Big Ten Curve Moffat Route in Colorado

Описание к видео Amtrak and Union Pacific at Big Ten Curve Moffat Route in Colorado

Used by Union Pacific, BNSF and Amtrak, the Moffat route west out of Denver was constructed in the early 1900's. The railroad had to gain over 4,000 feet in just 50 miles with a grade of no more than 2%. A very efficient route was built with 38 tunnels and parts of it are still used today, such as the Big Ten Curve.
