Tribute to SML Plush Show (2007-2021)

Today, after 13 and a half years, close to 10 million subscribers, and over 500 videos, the first and original YouTube channel of SML (formerly known as SuperMarioLogan) has officially been deleted.

That’s right. All of the classic videos that have existed since 2007 have been permanently deleted and all of the epic and classic videos a lot of people grew up with (whether it be Mario & Luigi’s Stupid and Dumb Adventures, Toad’s Mistake, Chef Pee Pee Quits, American Idol, or just the SML Movies) are now gone forever.

You may be wondering why I, of all people, decided to make this video. It’s because while SML has its fair share of controversies over the years, whether it be what kinds of content are being shown to children, Jeffy, the fans, the current puppet redesigns, or even the cast members themselves, I honestly find SML to be a guilty pleasure of mine.

There’s an awful lot of videos that I’ve enjoyed since last year and once you ignore the controversies, I personally find it to be a great channel in terms of content, editing, and the characters. It’s a shame that SML is gone and now it has become a cesspool of poorly-designed puppets and merchandise promotion. Regardless of what you may think of the channel, there’s no denying that it has become a staple of YouTube history and that channel skyrocketed in fame to the point where you can make a career out of making videos with plushes and puppets.

Nevertheless, I feel like SML also inspired me somewhat in terms of my content and I want to pay tribute to the amount of time and effort they’ve put into making each and every single one of those videos on that channel before it got demonetized in 2017. It seems like the right thing to do.

So to Logan, Lance, Lovell, Pablo, Elaina, and everyone else involved, thank you for the memories and thank you for making an impact on YouTube (whether we wanted you to or not).
