Where to Put a Waterline on a Handmade Wooden Boat?

Описание к видео Where to Put a Waterline on a Handmade Wooden Boat?

Two wooden boat builders ruminate about where to put the waterline on this 20' Irish Seine Boat they're building for a client of Lowell's Boat Shop who uses the boat as a launch to get guests from the mainland of Ireland to his small island.

Resources for this information came from pictures of the original boat, a set of rudimentary boat building plans that came from taking the lines off the old boat, and measurements from the original boat that came in via text message as we were filming.

A National Historic Landmark and working museum, Lowell’s is dedicated to preserving and perpetuating the art and craft of wooden boat building. In our boatbuilding and shop update videos, we're hoping to take you inside our living museum where we build new boats for clients, restore boats for other museums, and provide a space for events and on-the-water programs for all ages. Our museum is open for guided and self-guided tours. Visit http://lowellsboatshop.com/ to see how you can become a member, attend a program, or get involved in boatbuilding workshops.
