All of the IFR approaches were closed at Kelowna Airport (CYLW) due to the MAJOR forest fires in Kelowna area. There was even fear that the city and the airport might burn down! In order to land and pick up our passengers who were trying to escape the area, a visual approach was the only option. Thankfully, the Cessna Conquest is a turboprop aircraft, capable of faster descent rates, and has a lot of high performance capability. This proved very helpful with the different procedures in effect. Hope you enjoy! :)
