Welcome back Flockers! We are trialling some new times and just a reminder that we will be switching to a pre-recorded format soon! While we love the live, the schedule is a little challenging with Ethan travelling more. We will still be bringing you the fun and wonderful conversation you are used to plus shop updates.
We are already receiving fantastic Flocktober Submissions and I cannot wait to force Anisha and Christine to pick a winner. We are giving out spot prizes to commenters each week until it's all over, 30 November 2025, so keep on commenting! It does not matter where your yarn is from, it does not matter what you made, I am not even bothered this year if it's even finished, please share it with us. Tell us why you made it, and let us share that with everyone. Flocktober this year is about finding a way to come together, to dismantle barriers to connection, and remind us all that each stitch we make, makes the world a better, warmer place. When we stack all the little stitches together they become something much more than before we touched the yarn with our needles, gently guiding it into the shape of love and caring made physical.
While Flocktober may change each year, and things always do, I want this connection to remain the same. Each year, no matter the theme, come knit with us. Bring us your stories and your projects, come as you are with the yarn that you have, and know that every year for one month, and for all the days after it, you are always welcome at Get Flocked. Building and nurturing a community not just a business, is a gift, thank you to all of you for entrusting me with this role, I will always strive to do my best.
I want to say thank you to everyone who watches and to let you know that we are going to be expanding our content offerings here and on the Flock Online. Connecting with passionate knitters and crafters can be such a joy, especially when it is not a challenge. Both this platform and The Flock Online allow me to reach more of you than ever before, for which I am especially grateful. This year while teaching at KAN I decided to open up more and it meant that I was able to hear more of your stories and needs better. Therefore I want to bring you more of what I hear people need: connection, sharing, learning, and caring, what a great job to have! As the videos here begin to grow and change, please stay in touch, I want to hear from you, even if I do not always have the time to respond, I am listening. All of you make this journey possible and it means that carefully crafting things just for you is always worth my time and effort. Please continue to like and share, and ask everyone you know to subscribe. Keep your eyes peeled too because you never know when an Ethan might be headed in your direction!
We will also be having more chances to meet up and knit, not just at the shop but all over Christchurch. The last Tuesday of the month for the next wee while you will find Ethan posted up at Pommeroy's for a casual knitting catch up and some help if you need it. Come relax and get out of the house to knit with people! If you are not nearby and want help arranging a knit night near you get in touch.
