#Olympia - 2 Dec, 2025 - WA State Rep. Shaun Scott (D-43) hosted a press conference to announce his intent to file a bill to save Washington's social safety net. His plan would create a new excise tax on large businesses for high-income workers earning over $125,000 annually. He claims that the tax raises billions in revenue to fund healthcare, education, and other human services. Critics argue that this policy will backfire, giving corporations a reason to relocate high-paying jobs outside Washington.

This program endorses the legislation. Washingtonians cannot depend on federal support in this political climate. The government in DC is more focused on waging war in Venezuela instead of providing for working people in America.
