Larap had been a cool place, peaceful community. It's population is mainly composed of one original clan. This means all citizens in there are closed relative to each other.

It is located in the mainland Tumindao in Sitangkai municipality in the southwestern part of Tawi-Tawi in the Philippines.

The island has been recently discovered with its natural resources. Aside from being rich in aquatic resources such as the fisheries and seaweeds products, it has an oil deposit that can perhaps sustain the Philippines' economy in the future.
