2077 degrees awarded at our Coimbatore campus’ 20th Convocation Ceremony held October 14, 2023.
Our Coimbatore campus conferred degrees upon a total of 2077 students during its 20th convocation ceremony held yesterday. The majority of students, 1120 in number, were from the B.Tech stream, followed by M.Tech (326), MBA (132), Integrated MSc. (121), B.Sc (Hon) Agriculture (117), MSc. (72), and B. A (44) programs.
The convocation event was graced by notable dignitaries, including the Chief Guest, Dr. U. Kamachi Mudali, Vice-Chancellor, Homi Bhabha National Institute, Mumbai, and the Guest of Honour Mr. Sriram Balasubramanian, Group Director, Synopsys, Bengaluru.
During the address, Dr. U. Kamachi Mudali, Vice-Chancellor, of Homi Bhabha National Institute, Mumbai, said, “The role of technology in social development is very important. Nuclear energy is essential for the development of a country and development can never happen without energy. In the future, we can focus on green energy and thus we can save ourselves from the menace of global warming.”
Mr. Sriram Balasubramanian, Group Director, Synopsys, Bengaluru, said “Everyone should strive to see our success through the team's success in their workplaces. Meaningful communication, good teamwork, and social responsibility are very important for career advancement.”
Pujya Swami Ramakrishnananda Puri, Treasurer & Trustee, Mata Amritanandamayi Math & Member, Board of Management, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, said in his benedictory address "Amidst all the challenges they've faced, an Amrita student continues to uphold our rich cultural values and a strong commitment to society. Our approach to education goes beyond merely preparing students for a livelihood; it is about shaping them for a lifetime of compassionate research aimed at making a global impact. We have every confidence that the graduates of today will carry this responsibility with great pride and an unwavering commitment to integrity. I wholeheartedly wish them success, both in their personal lives and in their careers.”
Dean of School of Engineering Dr. Sasangan Ramanathan, Dean of School of Artificial Intelligence Dr. KP Soman, Principal Director of Corporate & Industry Relations Prof. C. Parameswaran, Registrar Dr. K. Sankaran, School of Business Dean Dr. Nava Subramaniam and Campus Director Air Cmde Satish Menon participated in the function.
