Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates had formed a coalition to confront the Houthis in Yemen. However, Saudi Arabia and the UAE are now at odds with each other in Yemen. Specifically, the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Yemen has flatly refused Saudi Arabia's demand to withdraw from the Hadramaut province. Hadramaut is a Yemeni province that borders Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia had warned the STC through Yemen's internationally recognized government, the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), to vacate Hadramaut. The head of the PLC, Rashad Al-Alimi, has warned that further incursions by the STC into Hadramaut and Al-Mahra provinces will have serious consequences.

Yemen में हूतियों से निपटने के लिए सऊदी अरब और संयुक्त अरब अमीरात ने एक गठबंधन बनाया था. लेकिन अब सऊदी अरब और यूएई यमन में एक-दूसरे के सामने खड़े हुए हैं. दरअसल, यमन के भीतर STC ने सऊदी अरब से साफ इनकार कर दिया है कि वो हद्रामौत प्रांत से बाहर नहीं निकलेंगे. बता दें कि हद्रामौत यमन का वो प्रांत है, जिसका बॉर्डर सऊदी अरब से लगता है. सऊदी अरब ने यमन की मान्यता प्राप्त सरकार Presidential Leadership Council यानी PLC के ज़रिए STC को चेतावनी दी थी कि वो हद्रमौत को खाली कर दें. PLC के मुखिया Rashad Al-Alimi ने चेतावनी दी है कि हद्रामौत प्रांत और Al-Mahra प्रांत में STC का और ज्यादा भीतर घुसने से उसके गंभीर नतीजे होंगे.
